My DD is about 24 weeks. She started sleeping through the night around 11 weeks. About a month ago she started waking anytime after 5 am because she's hungry. Since then she's only STTN a couple times. She's BF and I've tried only feeding her on one side but usually she'll want both and then that screws up the rest of the day because she's not hungry for her regular feeding at 7 am. Is it normal for a baby to stop STTN?
She started solids last week and is BFing well and eating solids well. She's somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4 hour EASY. Her days are a little crazy because of her eating in the night, but here's a typical EASY for us:
E 7 am
A 8:30 (solids)
S 9: 20-10:45
E 10:45 am
A 12:00 (solids)
S 1:00-3:00
E 3:00 pm
A
S 5:15-5:45
A 6:00 (solids)
E 6:50
S 7:15
DF 10:00
Then she'll wake up anytime after 5 am...I've tried not feeding her but she just gets mad. Is there anything I can do to help her STTN again? I feel like everything was going so well before and don't know what happened to change it!
Thanks!

Hi there, it could be several things. First, yes it's normal :-) Sleep isn't linear with these LOs. Two things I think could be happening:
One is that there is a big growth spurt around now, so if she's eating and going back to sleep it's fine, just give her a top up at her waking at 7 and eventually that 5 a.m. feed will merge with the 7 a.m. feed. Is she taking a good amount at the DF?
It could also be a signal that she needs more A time if she's waking to play at that early hour. You may try capping her PM nap to 1.5 hrs since she's still on a CN to see if that helps. Between now and 8 mths is when they start to work towards dropping the CN. Most LO are done with the CN when they have 3 hrs A time consistently. It's a bit of a wonky time as they transition.

She usually does eat a lot at the DF...I was thinking about her waking being a growth spurt when it first started, but since it's been going on for a month now didn't know what to think. She usually goes right back to sleep after eating, though sometimes she'll be restless and be in and out of sleep and will be up for the day at 6:30.
I'll try extending her A time a bit and see if that starts to make a difference. Her naps have started getting cut short the last couple days and I was thinking she probably needed some more more A time anyway.

It sounds like it on this end. How's it going?
