Title: 5 month old night feed, get rid of b4 wean paci?
Post by: coras_mom on September 30, 2010, 02:09:37 am
My 5 month old still feeds around 2-3 am every night. She is EBF and eats for just as long as all other feeds. I imagine it is still just a habit though? I am not really sure how to determine if I should get rid of it (or know that she is old enough that I should) and I am not sure the best way to go about getting rid of it. I am also going to wean the paci in 2 weeks-should I try to get rid of the NF while I am still using the paci?

Hi there, it may not be habitual, she could just be hungry.  A lot of BF babes hang on to one night feed for a long time.  What's her routine like?  For the paci weaning you can get a lot of support if you post on the Props board, from those who have been there and done that.

Her routine is great all day. Eats every 4 hours, activity for 1.5-2 hrs then naps for 2 hrs. I guess I won't worry about the night feeding until she wakes and doesn't really eat that much? Is that the big indicator?

I have gotten some good advice on the paci thing on the other boards! Thanks!
