Title: Early Wakings
Post by: kplus2 on January 19, 2011, 13:44:09 pm
DD (10 wks old) and I have been working to start out day around 6:15-6:30 (very early in my books, lol).  During the night she woke at 4:30 am for a feed, she has this feed about 50% of the time, then she woke again at 5:50 am.  This is the first EW I have had.  I tried to soothe her back to sleep but had no luck so at 6:20 am I feed her as per her 'usual' wake up time.

Should I have fed her or should I have waited longer?  I've heard some moms talk about doing a "top up" feed regardless of how long between feeds it has been.

I am starting to sleep train later this week and just want to sort out all the what ifs.

Thank you for any advice

Hi there, yes it's typical to do a top up feed on waking.  She's very young so she's still really eating round the clock almost.  There are a large number of growth spurts in the first 12 mths.
