Hiya, my dd goes to bed at 7.30-8pm every night, she wakes for a feed at 11pm ish and then anywhere between 2.15am and 4am. The thing is for the last couple of weeks she is waking and staying awake for 2hrs when she does wake up.
She is 5 1/2 months and 20lb.....she has about 27oz of formula a day and 3 meals, just started breakfast and she doesnt really want it.
Last night she had a 6oz feed at 11pm and then woke at 2.15am and i tried to get her back off to sleep, i used a dummy and ssh/pat, i finally thought she was asleep and then she woke crying again, i gave her a bottle at 3am, 5oz formula. She then stayed awake until 4.15 and then slept until 8am.
This happens every night, but to be honest i dont think she really needs that bottle as she never really eats that much for breakfast....i just cant cope with loads of crying and ssshing and patting all night!!
I think it maybe a good idea stretching out A time as she is getting a bit older now, when she does wake at 2/3am she is always awake for 1.5 - 2hrs, tossing and turning, sucking dummy and then spitting it out, its like she just isnt tired enough to go to sleep.
I wake my dd at 8am every morning and she is asleep by 7.30 - 8ish everynight.
Also im going to try hungry milk for 11pm feed!
Also she has bad constipation with starting on solids, maybe she is in discomfort with this?
Should i try waking her an hour before to see if that helps
Thanks

Hi there, well it could be discomfort. You would need to do a food trial to see what could be upsetting her tum. You could also try her on some probiotics. If she's awake and restless though maybe it's her routine that needs tweaking. What kind of day does she have? What do her naps look like? Is she teething at all?

This is her routine
wake 8am
E: 8.30am (5oz formula)
9.00am (solids)
A:
S: 10am - 12
E: 12.30pm (5oz formula)
1.00pm (solids)
A:
S: 2.00pm - 3.00pm
A:
E: 4.30pm (5oz formula)
S: 5.00pm - 5.30/5.45pm
E: 6.00pm (solids)
A: 6.45pm (Bath, book, bottle (between 3 and 5oz formula)
S: 7.30/7.45pm (depends on when she woke up from previous nap)
DF: 11.00pm (which she sometimes wakes for) (5oz formula)
Then she wakes somwhere between 2.15am and 4am for a feed, which is 5oz formula.
Last night i gave her some hungry milk at 11.30pm and she woke at 3.15am, she played happily in her cot for about 20mins before starting to whinge, i tried to get her back to sleep but she kept spitting dummy out, i thought she was hungry so i fed her at 4am, 4oz formula. She tossed and turned for a while and eventually went to sleep about 4.45am.
She then woke this morning at 7.30am

Hiya, had a bad night last night....
she woke at 2.50am and was hard to get back to sleep, but she did about 3.20 and then she woke at 4.05 and didnt go back to sleep until 6.15am!!
I stopped her night feed the night before and she only woke at 4.10am and i put her dummy in and she slept till 7am, but last night was very different, shes definitely not hungry, what else could it be, everything was the same as the night before apart from last night she woke during her dreamfeed and the night before she slept thru it, could the dreamfeed be disturbing her? I give it her about 11.15/11.30, should i try and earlier dreamfeed, could this make a difference???
thanks

Have you tried medicating like Wendy suggested? There is nothing that stands out about your routine. :-\
Have you been doing the DF this whole time?
-
i have always done DF, havent tried medicating, she has 2 teeth on bottom which are halfway through, dont think she is cutting any more teeth at moment as she is usually very hot and restless.
Think bananas were making her consipated so cut them out.

Hmmm, well I was just re-reading the FAQ's on the DF and I am wondering if you are offering it too late. Have you tried a DF around 10 or so? http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=54662.0
