I just have to say that this website has helped me so many times! I'm hoping that this will help me too with my baby girl's teething.
It's been pretty hardcore for about a week now, swollen gums, fussy, clingy, sensitive, lots of drool and today, a runny nose. She's been waking up way more frequently at night, and sometimes is inconsolable until I nurse her back to sleep. Previously, she had been able to sleep from 7:30 - 5/6, had a feed, and then back down until 8/8:30. This week, I've nursed her at night each night at least two times and once up to 4 times. I really don't want to get into the habit of nursing her a lot again at night as she hasn't need multiple feeds since she was about 3.5 months old. We give her baby advil before she goes to bed, and baby tylenol when she wakes up at night, as well as teething gel in case it's really bad. But sometimes she's inconsolable, it feels like. How do we get her back to sleep without nursing? We usually give back paci, pat her on her back and sing. Before, just the paci would work like a charm. Now sometimes all three things don't work at all.
My husband usually helps her back to sleep at night, but because of teething and her age, she's going through separation anxiety with me and she'll cry if he tries to help her. And sometimes I can console her back to sleep but it has to be quite quickly, before she hits screaming phase. We have him do it, because I just wake up too much and it takes me too long to fall back asleep. However, this week it's just not working (even though he works from home and she sees him all day - it doesn't make sense). He can normally get her back to sleep so quickly and so well. He's become quite the pro! Anyway, any help on this would be great too.
Also, how long until these teeth will come in????? ;)
Thanks again for this wonderful website! It enabled my daughter to go from 45 minutes to 1hr30 naps when she was 4 months old. :)

Teething is the pits. :( It is hard to say how to advise, because it is not advisable to sleep train with teething. What if instead of feeding, you had your hubby rub her back or sooth her? Could he get more involved, so that your breast isn’t in the equation? You would have to do some sort of GW to get back on track. But it might be easier than breaking the feeding to sleep.
Are you sure there isn’t anything else going on?
You are still medicating right?
What is your routine like during the day?
