Title: help w terrible nw
Post by: hmccd on June 23, 2011, 13:54:58 pm
My 6 mo dd has had terrible nw the last three nights. I am exhausted. I feel like we just got through this 3 weeks ago and now its backband worse! She is waking upALL night now for stretches up to an 1.5. I have tried everything from p/u pd to feeding her just in case its a growth spurt and nothing is working. She just keeps crying or yelling really. I dont know what is wrong w her, i even took to her the dr thinking maybe she had an ear infection, but the dr said there is nothing wrong. Our easy is a mess now as a result. But we were on a 4 hour easy w 2 hr to 2.15 A time two naps of 1.5  hrs and one 30 min cat nap. She is on solids for breakfast and lunch. Any suggestions?

When was the last time she had an A time increase?  I wonder if her wakings are UT related, as most LOs this age are doing ~2h30 A times, and she might be getting too much daytime sleep, or at least not enough A time.

Also, can you see/feel any teeth?

2 or 3 weeks ago i increased A time to 2.25 morning only.) and it did seem to help. She has her two bottom teeth and i thought maybe she was getting a new tioth and gave her some meds last night but it didnt help at all. :( im not sure if she could do 2.5 A time but will give it a shot. She is moaning a lot too as she falls asleep:(

So what's her A time for the rest of the day if her AM one is 2h15?

Ok.  I would keep her first A time where it is, but I would bump the rest of them.  Try 2h15 for the next 2-3 days and see how it goes.

When she does wake at night, I would keep trying to resettle with PU/PD (or shh/pat if she responds better to that).  I'm hoping the NWs will settle down once her A times are up a bit more.
