Hi,
my 7 wk old boy goes down to sleep around 7.30-8ish and then I dream feed him at around 10.30pm. He seems to wake in the night, sometimes at 2 or 3 am and I have always assumed it is because he is hungry to feed him. However, he never takes more than an oz, usually only 1/2 oz so I don't think he is actually hungry.
Sometimes I just turn him on his side, shh=pat and he's off sleeping but then he'll wake maybe an hour later and do the same...I'm not sure what is going on.
He'll then wake around 4-5 to a feed and then again 7-8.
I'm trying to get him on EASY - 3 hr at the moment but he refuses to sleep during the day. He's not grump or upset, just happily plays.
what should I do?
thanks
Sue

At this age, wakings during the night are normally hunger. Is he BF or FF?
A lot of LOs can get really OT quick during the day and therefore have longer than necessary A times. Are you trying to establish a predictable routine? Put your LO down in his crib? In the dark? Are you starting some kind of wind down?

this morning I have successfully got him to sleep for two naps! Very pleased with myself. He is bottlefed. We go into the bedroom, shut the curtains, swaddle, shh pat and down into the crib.
I'm worried now that if he sleeps more during the day he'll sleep less at night...is that necessarily going to happen, or will his sleep just be of better quality as he won't be OT?
