Title: Tips for dealing with possible SA at bedtime ???
Post by: clairebear79 on September 15, 2011, 12:54:55 pm
This is not for me, but for a friend who is having some issues at BT since her LO (14 months old) has started nursery.  He cries for a few minutes when she leaves him & is then OK, & he is sleeping well there & seems to be settling in well.  But since starting nursery, she is having big problems settling him at bedtime.  He is crying & screaming & seems to want reassurance & cuddles.

I suggested a slightly earlier BT just incase he is OS/OT but think he may also be having some SA issues too.  Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with this?  Is it a case of staying with him til he settles & then using GW to help him back to independent settling?  Or is there something else she could try?

Any links to useful threads / sticky's would be much appreciated.  TIA.xx

Hello, I think you're def right suggesting a slightly earlier b/t. If he's already an independent sleeper she could try WIWO but if that's upsetting him a lot then GW would be gentler, but probably take longer...He probably does need lots of reassurance right now as starting nursery is a huge change for a baby :)
