Title: Excema on face - gone since avoiding peanuts - so what next?
Post by: C&B&E on September 25, 2011, 20:14:54 pm
Hi

My DS is 2 months old and breastfed.  She has had bad excema on her face since a few weeks old, which had been getting worse.  She also has suspected MPI (she's much more settled since I stopped eating all dairy).  I decided to stop eating peanuts last week and her excema has almost completely cleared up  :).  I know this sounds a silly question - but what do I do next?  Do I avoid peanuts until she is weaned, and does this just mean an intolerance or could it suggest an allergy?  I am only asking because it is peanuts iyswim.

Thank you x

Personally, I would put them back in for a couple of days and see if the eczema starts creeping in. If it does then stay off it until she is old enough for allergy testing.
