Title: 4.5 month hard to settle - is his being sick the problem?
Post by: b-bop on January 25, 2012, 19:54:37 pm
My little one has been on "flexible" Easy for some time now. We have progressed from shush/pat to PU/PD and around 50% of times he settles the first time he is put in his cot.

He's slept through once (waking at 11 for a feed - he's very wakeful and light sleeper, plus a combination of spirited and touchy, and so I've found dream feeds not to be too effective), but generally he wakes up anywhere between every three hours, or sometimes hourly to two hourly (not always at the same time...so don't feel it's habitual waking). I don't feed him every time but as he is used and responds to PU/PD, last night after and hour and a half I fed him. He's breastfed and is being sick after every feed. Seen two doctors both said not to worry as his weight gain was not affected but it's really slowed down now (a gain of 2.5oz in two weeks). The sickness doesn't seem to be uncomfortable for him but I am wondering if he's getting enough to feel satisfied.

Does anyone have any advice/comments/experience they can share?

Have you asked your dr about reflux?  It's not normal for a bub to spit up after every feed.  The frequent NWs sound a bit like he's uncomfortable as well.  Have you looked over here?  http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=654.0
