Title: stopping a snacker
Post by: klamps on June 20, 2012, 23:14:34 pm
hello everyone, my lo who is 8 months feeds around every 1 1/2 hour, for around 3 - 4 mins. I struggle to keep her on for 5 mins. So how exactly do I extend her feeds, but feed her less frequently? Say every 3 hours? Thanks:)

Does she take a decent feed first thing in the morning?  That's often a good place to start.  At 8 months, she could be taking a decent feed in a very short time -- does she ever feed fr longer than that?  Is she easily from wanting a feed?  The best thing to do is to try to distract her from feeding as long as you can to stretch out those feeds.

she usually gets up between 3 - 5 times a night, but I think it might be for comfort. First thing in the morning she usually takes about 4 mins to feed. I've tried to force her to continue, but she just latches off everytime! I'll try the distraction thing and see if that works, thanks:)
