Hello! I searched the forum and couldn't find anything along these lines. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
I have an 8 mon old who is sleeping through the night! Here is his approx schedule.
07 E bf
08 E/A solids
09 S
1130 E bf
1230 E/A solids
14 S
16 E bf
1730 E solids
19 bed time
22 df
I've read now is a good time to drop the df but wondering if I should go down to 3 feeds/day as he eats solids really well because I don't feed him right before bedtime- have never fed to sleep. Are 3 feeds a day enough? Would anyone add a bf at 1830? He's already full from supper then.
Any thoughts?

I wouldn't drop any day feeds until you have dropped the dreamfeed because he will need to transfer the calorie intake from the DF to the daytime feeds.

Yeah, that's the feed I've been wanting to drop. I"m wondering if I need to find a spot for a fourth feed during the day or if the three should be enough...

He *should* still have 4 feeds at 8 months -- I think I might try moving the df forward a bit and possibly eventually get it to the point where you're offering it at BT (or a little before). Alternately, if the df isn't bothering either of you and he's taking his other feeds well, there's nothing wrong with keeping it.

Oh, sorry I misunderstood, didn't I, I'm with you now.
I would do as Erin says and when you have gradually moved the DF forward I would offer a BT BF. even if he doesn't take much, the offer is there.

Thanks ladies... might just keep it as is for now... hate to ruin a good thing! Eventually will move it forward!

I'll also add that I kept the df with my ds until he was about 10 months old, I just felt like he needed it longer than my girls. 8 months is just a suggestion really, if it works to keep it, then keep it. :)
