Hi moms
Dunno where our routine went wonky but my lo has been waking a couple times at night - 4 and 6 am and is now refusing to go back after 6 am. A
Our routine
W 715
S 1245
W 315
S 815
He's on an 11hr night, 13 hour day and this has been working wonderfully for the last month plus since we dropped the 2nd nap.
His 2 top molars are coming in and his top canine. But wouldn't he be waking more if it was that?
At 4 its easy to get him back - just go in - either help him lie down or give him a paci (he doesn't need it to fall asleep, he only gets it sometimes when he's woken early from a nap or in the night). At 6 its torture. He'll sometimes go back till 615, 645 - today he wudnt after 645 - he kept on asking to be breast fed.
Just wondering what's going on and what I do now for the day? He's up at 6 so same A time? Longer nap? Early bed? If he sleep at 645 he'll be up at 545 and I can't deal with that
Thanks for the advice

Not necessarily. He comes into a lighter stage of sleep at that time in the morning and likely notices the discomfort of the teeth more, and molars and canines tend to be the worst for that. :(
His routine looks really good. Before cutting the nap, I would try to rule out teeth if possible. Have you been medicating at all? I think it's worth a try to give meds at the 4 am waking to see if that helps him sleep through the 6 waking. Or, you could try a dream med and give it around 3am, in the hopes that he doesn't wake at all. It's like a dream feed, where you go in and just squirt the meds in without actually waking him.
As for routine with the EW, I'd try for about the same A, maybe a tish more if you think he can make it, let him sleep his normal nap and then get as close to BT as you think you can, likely bringing it forward by 30 min or so.

yes that really does sound like teeth. I have found with both of mine that they have EWings when teething. Have you tried a DF meds around 3am? I know it sounds gross but it may help.
Re routine - I would stick to 13 hour day MAX so if he is up at 6.45am then bed by 7.45pm latest. The nap may need to be a wee bit earlier too.
I know with DD atm that she is teething and more tired than usual.
