Has anyone made them? (or any other baby cereal, rice, or barley).
Can you share a recipe?

I just got some oats - whizzed them in the food processor, mixed with milk and then microwaved until the right consistency.
-
thanks buntybear. I am clueless with this type of stuff, sounds simple enough that I should be able to do it! :)
-
It takes some trial and error I can tell you! And it really thickens on standing/cooling so add more liquid than you think.
Or do it in the hob and it is easier to watch but with tiny amounts I used the microwave.

Can you just mix the oats with BM without heating them? I bought some baby oats today, but I was hoping to just mix them with EBM for sake of ease. Anyone know how this goes?

Hopping on here:)
I eat oats for breakfast every day and I don't bother warming them. Just add milk or yoghurt and leave them to stand a few min but like Bunty said, they absorb a lot of liquid so keep an eye on them and mix in more BM if they start looking like concrete:)

Not sure on not heating them tbh. I have heard of muesli that soaks overnight in the fridge though. I imagine that they need quite a long time soaking to break them down enought for them to be palatable and indeed digestable for a little tummy.

There's a really good AK recipe with oats - 150mls milk (have made it with cow's milk and with EBM, should work with formula too), 15g oats, 6 chopped dried apricots (could miss these out or substitute with prunes, dates, raisins etc) - heat to boiling and simmer for 3-4 mins. Chop up very ripe pear, add to oats and blend whole lot together. My LO loves it! May be good for M with the pears Elise?

Hmmm Katherine great recipe!!! I could do it with his formula, and skip the dried apricots.
Thanks :)

You're welcome :D
