My LO is 7 months and started eating solids at 4.5mo. She is doing really well with solids but I am finding that she almost holds out and isn't feeding very long as she knows solids come next (ive tried delaying the time solids come for example 1-2 hrs after BF). I'm worried I'm loosing my milk supply. I no longer feel my let down, leak or get engorged if she takes little at a feed. Is this her self-weaning? I really want her to BF for a year at least. I also just tried pumping and only got 1.5oz total from both breasts :( Any ideas or suggestions?

It's completely normal after about 4m (for some later) not to feel engorged, leak or feel letdown. It means your body has regulated the amount of milk it is producing based on the amount your LO feeds. You are now working on a supply/demand basis. It is unlikely she is self-weaning at 7m. Left to their own devices, LOs don't tend to self-wean until some time in their second year.
Pumping is also not a reliable indicator of supply. Some mums with plentiful supply get virtually nothing out with a pump, especially if they try doing it at 7m and haven't been doing it regularly up to then.
Does she seem satisfied when she comes off the breast? How often is she having a BF?

Thanks for your reply!! I know pumping a not a reliable indicator but it's so hard to see only 1.5 oz and not be concerned!!
LO eats 7am, 11, 3, 4:30/5, 6:30 (won't take a dream feed) wakes anywhere between 3-5 am for NF.
When she comes off the breast she smiles then burps (grumpy when burping) but smiles after.

Sounds normal to me! You can always try a day of skin to skin and BFing completely on demand if you're worried but I think it sounds just fine. :)

Like Kate said, sounds like she's doing great :)

Thanks ladies!! You eased my worry!! She just must have become a very efficient feeder :)
