DD will be 13 months next week and we have been struggling with sleep over the last 2-3weeks. I'm finally posting as I'm at my wits end. She wakes for typically 1 long NW anywhere from 1-4hours between 12 and 4am.
She has been STTN 12hours since 1months old. She is an independent sleeper with a dummy that she can replug She has 3 teeth (2 front and one molar). We have tried medicating and it doesn't make a difference. I have been doing the 2-1, I finally bit the bulllet this week and went to one nap as I thought this was hhe probleem but still partying.
Two nap days used to be 730 wu, 1030-1100 nap, 130-330 nap 730 BT
One nap days 730wu, 1230-3/330 nap 730 BT
Please help

Hi melissa,
Bumping up for you....
Long NWings with M have always been discomfort but if you say that meds don't work and she is happy then unlikely..
I did find (and others too I think) that when you make the switch to 1 nap you often get a bit of strange sleep for a while. I remember M being quite unsettled for a good few weeks when we went from 2-1.
The only other thing I guess is UT. I must say that neither of mine have had a nap that long with just a 12 hour day. Both of mine have done more like a 2 hour nap with a 12.5-13 hour day - they never did 3 hour naps. I guess you could try capping at 2 hours but I would be wary if she has just made the switch I think...maybe add 30 mins onto the second A time and see if it helps?
Just ideas for you - hopefully some more BTDT eyes will come along.

Hi there!
At this age we too were on one nap with a 12h day. Our day looked something like this:
WU:7am
Nap: 11.30 (3h)
BT: 7pm (asleep by)
R used to (and still does!) wake anytime between 12/1am for extended periods when UT. That said, I'm pretty sure for us sleep did go wonky at this age - not only because of the transition to one nap as Becky has suggested but because of a language boom and for us mobility leap (R crawled 2 weeks before her 1st birthday and started walking at 13m).
HTH x
