Title: MSPI with dd#1, expecting #2...chances of it again?
Post by: Baby_A_Mama on April 22, 2015, 04:10:15 am
Hi all, my dd is now 22 months and has thankfully out grown her milk soy protein intolerance. It was a long road but we made it. I'm expecting #2 in a couple weeks and wondering what the chances of LO having it are? Any mom's with experience with both or one not the other?

I'm debating over whether or not to cut out dairy as a precaution to avoid it but a) I love dairy, and b) really struggled last time with getting enough and maintaining breast feeding (I ended up quite a bit under weight until the new LO helped me to pack on the pounds). Any thoughts or input would be much appreciated. Thanks all :)

It's 50:50 really.

All three of mine have had varying degrees of mspi/reflux.

Hi there, I have no experience but I wouldn't necessarily cut it out as a precaution - otherwise how would you know? If you spot any symptoms I would start cutting straight away. And you will know exactly what to look for this time  :)

My DD, who is 10 months old, has MSPI/reflux; however, I have a 5 year old son who never had MSPI or reflux.  So, I agree with Liz...probably a 50:50 chance really.
