Hello again, so over a month ago we had a restless baby in a bed who was night waking galore. We decided to put him back in the cot that seemed to settle things down. Now my 21 month old is obviously going through something new as he is now waking at 4.30-4.45
His routine is as follows
At the moment waking 4.30-4.45
I manage to keep him down till about 5.30 by bringing him into my bed. He doesn't sleep though. He has lunch at 12 then sleeps at 1. He sleeps for about 2-2.5 hours. He is then in bed for 7.15.
Should I start reducing the nap time or should I do a later bed time? Or is there anything else you can suggest? 😘

Hey there, I'd prob cut the nap a little but also think you might need a little earlier bedtime for a couple of days...he's prob OT as its a long day even with a nap. What's his mood like when he wakes?

He is happy enough but he is a very stubborn child so it can turn very quickly. Honestly you get one thing sorted then it's 10 steps back again x

Tell me about it ;)

Ok so I capped his nap to exactly 1.5 yesterday and he went to bed at 6.50 and was definitely fully asleep by 7 and he was up at 4.40. Should I keep at the same times for a few days do you think?

I'd prob try BT a little earlier

Ok so my 22 month old is still waking at 4.55 Ish. I've been putting him to bed at 6.45 and is only napping for 1 and a half hour. Should I cap that nap a little again do you think? My almost 4 year old has always been an early riser but has now started getting up at 5-5.30 am. I have a grow clock and have a star chart for him if be sleeps in but nothing.

Ok just to give you an update that d.s decided that he Didn't want to nap today so I've kept him up till now. He went to bed at 6.15. My husband thinks I should of kept him
Up till 7 but I know he will be very much over tired anyway. Plus he hasn't been listening to his loud waling for quite some time. Will post what time he gets up tomorrow xx

Hi sorry meant to reply earlier and got sidetracked. No you did right by going earlier to bed, later would prob cause NW and EW. xx

It worked for two days and now the early waking are back. I think he is still too young to not have any sleep so going to start cutting it down to 45 minutes for a week and see how that goes. Should I still keep an early bedtime like at 7 do you think?

I would keep an earlier BT if 45 mins too long 20 mins used to work a treat for us x
