Title: 7.5 month baby - how do I stop dreamfeed?
Post by: tathi-b on July 23, 2016, 19:04:15 pm
Hi again,

I think that we are ready to start thinking about stopping the dreamfeed - might be a tad late to be honest!

I was wondering if anyone could help me understand how I can go about it with minimal disruption to my baby's sleep?

For reference her EAS normally looks pretty much like this -

6:30 - wake up
7am milk
8:30 - breakfast
9:30 - nap

11am - wake up
11:15 - milk
12:30 - lunch
1:30 - 2pm - nap

3:30 - Wake up
4:30 - Dinner
5:30 - bath
6pm/ 6:30 bed

10:30 - dream feed.

Thanks so much!

xx

Hi, with DS1 I just dropped a couple of ounces every few days until wasn't really worth it. It never affected his sleep.

Does she not have BT bottle/feed?

Bottle.

But do I have to then compensate her milk intake by increasing other bottles because I think I'll struggle to do that. She prefers food to milk already!

No, if she's having 4 milk feeds of 7-8oz a day plus solids she will be fine. If your worried about intake you can always add formula to her food, I used to add it to mashed potato and all sorts  :)

I think I might add some milk to the food, she's on and off with milk at the minute.  Some days she loves it, some days she is just not interested.  Her growth and development are brilliant though...

Thanks for your help! x
