My soon to be 2.5 year old will only nap some days. We still try for a nap every day but days where his brother or father are home he won’t go down. How long is a typical day for a 2.5 year old when they don’t nap ?
-
Mostly I'd go with his mood, try to give him some quiet time if you can (sitting in a quiet room reading stories to him if he won't stay on his own) and try for about the same awake hours as he has when he does nap.
I know my niece had given up naps by 2.5yo & my SIL had her pretty much 12hour & 12 hour with both (her and child) having a rest period as SIL was pregnant, in the middle of the day where they spent 45mins on the parent's bed listening to music & quiet play or reading.

On days he naps he is usually up around 7/730 naps from 130-3 and goes to bed at 830. If he doesn’t nap should he be in bed earlier? A 12 hour day would be 730-730 right.

With no nap definitely bring BT earlier. 12 hour day like you said often works well.
-
And for kids this age that still nap what’s average nap time or A times? His nap is getting later and later but he definitely does a better night if he’s up from nap by 3
-
I think at this age if your nap is 1.5 you’ve got to expect a 14 hour day unless lo
Is higher sleep needs.
Both of mine had naps capped to 45 mins then 20 mins at around this age

roughly speaking I'd say at 2.5yo expect 12 hours sleep if no nap, but probably only expect a total of 11.5 (nap & night total) with a nap, so 1 hour nap & 10.5 hours at night or 10 hours night & 1.5 hours nap.

When he does nap it’s typically 1.5-2 hours 130-3 or 115-315 and he is asleep by 830 awake by 7/730.
