Ok my baby is now 24weeks old, thats 5 mths and 2 weeks i think... i started weaning him since he was about 15weeks bcos he was a poor drinker and i thought he shud have somethin in him, i started with baby rice, moved onto fruit purees and then mixed veg...which he liked and ate well... he is on 4 bottles aday and has anything from 2-4oz each time...
now suddenly since 2 weeks or so ...not everyday but several times after or in between eating he has vomitted out all the food... i dont know why he is doing this and gaggin on foods?! he wasnt before?!
now i have decided to stop all foods again and just give baby cereal and yoghurts only with bottles!
he's ok on that so far .... so any ideas why he may have done that? i did start introducing more variety of vegs ..ie instead of mixed veg i gave spinach and patato, or instead of fruit gave rice puddings etc i tried giving him stuff that he was ok with b4, but he still vomitted so why could he be doing this?
he is teething, and maybe poor appetite means he full quicker and couldnt digest food? but im not sure - is it ok to leave him on cerals for a few days and try startin again?
any tips would help
also i set him a routine which was workin but now is harder to follow if he doesnt cooperate!! what shud i do?
9am he has bottle 2-4oz
10am baby cereal
11-12.50 - naps
1pm bottle 2-4oz
2pm used to give mixed veg, now cereal or yoghurt petit fluios
3-4.30 - nap
5pm bottle 2-4 oz
6pm yoghurt or ceral (b4 eitha yoghurt or rice pudding or any other dessert )
7pm-9pm nap
then dream feed 9.30-10pm
but i sometimes have to wake him for the nite feed which i shudnt have to do , and means then he dont drink till 10pm and then dont sleep early !! im always knackered in evenings when he sleeps we get to sleep , last nite meant 11.45!! but thats cos gums were botherin him, but what can i do to make him sleep earlier ... and pls suggest some better routine maybe ? so he sleeps from 8pm-7am?

Hes not getting enough milk - he should be on a MINIMUM of 20oz per day - you need to reduce the amount of solids and increase his milk above anything else.
My DS started gagging and throwing up, turned out he wasnt well. If there not hungry or teething they might gag aswell - although i know how distressing this is as i posted on her a week or so again asking for advice on it. Are you giving him smooth purees? Are you introducing new foods slowly - ie on their own and on 3 consecutive days to make sure he doesnt react? You started quite early but i dont think thats the problem just be careful your not rushing him as hes still very young and milk should be his main food.

I dont understand this - maybe someone else can help you.

thanks but he wont drink more, i try and he just cries!! so i cant do anything, i took him to doctors cos of this as i was so stressed and worried but doctor also said if he aint takin it theres nothin u can do! its some days and some days he may have 17oz so he does make it up some days but mostly about 14 average!
i think im doing it slowly?! with the food but i dont know?!
the last bit i meant he naps after 3rd bottle , at 7-9pm and i wake him to have last feed ...which i dont wanna do ! so if im waking him he drinks at 9.30-10pm then wont sleep till later ...but what im trying now is keeing him awake from 5pm and see if he drinks at 8.30 and sleeps thru!!!

Why are you waking him? Have you tried feeding him whilst hes still asleep and putting him back down?

Honestly, if his weight is okay, I would temporarily stop solids or cut back to 1 meal a day until things get sorted. Like Hana said, he definitely isn't getting enough milk. You didn't say if you'd tried cutting back on solids to up his milk intake...he's drinking so little right now and he's still so young that curbing solids for now might help. Breastmilk and/or formula should still be his main sources of nutrition for several more months, so temporarily discontinuing solids won't impact his nutrition. The vomiting also makes me wonder if his digestive system is having a hard time with solids. I know he's been on them for awhile now, but the if the amount has steadily increased over time and is making up the bulk of his diet, his body may be just not be able to digest that much at one time.
For his routine, I'm a little confused...when is his actual bedtime, and what time do you want his day to start? You may want to take a look in the EASY forum for sample schedules for other babies his age and see if one is close to what you want his day to look like. HTH!
