My 13 week son has been waking at night (at different times) cooing, laughing, and kicking his feet very loudly. He will do this for about and hour and then fall back asleep by himself. He will also do this for about 2 hours when he supposed to be going to bed for the night. If left alone, he is fine, but intervention makes him upset. I have noticed that over the past 2 weeks he is gaining more control over his limbs and has been experimenting with the sounds of his voice. However, my ds also gets extremely hyper toward the end of the day as he gets more tired. I have been working on extending wake time and sleep time. Is this a developmental thing or something in need of intervention? Does anyone else's lo do this?

Totally developmental as far as I know... hard as it is you just need to let him do his own thing & only help him if he crys, if you 'help" too much he will "unlearn" his good habit of falling asleep on his own.
