Title: How much does your LO fart?

Hi,

My 10.5 month old farts a lot from time to time and sometimes they are very stinky. Is this normal or could it be an upset tummy?

Not sure what's normal, but my son does too - often 4-5 in the morning or late afternoon. Sometimes they do stink too!
 He seems okay so I haven't worried about it!

my lo has farted loud and smelly since two days after she was born!!  i asked a health nurse and she had said that it was totally normal, altho my doctor said if they were that smelly it was b/c she was pooping enough and it was staying inside of her too long.. :? as long as ur lo doesn't seem to be uncomfortable don't worry about it tho

My DD is the champion farter.  She farts non-stop and she is laughing with it  :shock:.  When she feeds (5 times a day) I change her nappy and I keep the nappy off for about 10 mins, she farts about 6 times every nappy change. 

I sometimes her hear during naps times as well, as she is going through the 45 min stage.

They don't smell a lot, but when she does a BM (usually once a day, although when she is teething about three times a day) she does stink.

Another champion farter here, and no probs with bms, at least 2 if not 3 a day and one day we even had 8 !!! And the farts can be quite smelly. She has calmed down a bit since she went off pureed food, well she was eating so much veg and such a mixture it wasn't any wonder! When she does it now she says bang bang bang and laughs  :wink:

I just laughed out loud when I read the topic of this thread.  My son comes from a long line of champion farters, so he's living up to the family expectations  :wink:

Haha!  I'm glad someone posted this, I've been wondering the same thing!  My lo is VERY gassy, toots lots all day, but especially during feeding and around 5:00 in the morning.  Contrary to other comments, lo's poops are more infrequent (5 months old. BFO), sometimes 8 days between!  No wonder she's gassy the rest of the time!

Not a great farter here - but he's just realising now how much fun it is to do it in the bath!!

andrew farts all the time.  when he cries he farts, when he sneezes he farts, when he coughs he farts.  he's just a farter!

lmao...glad to know so many others are going through the same thing!  it definately can't get any worse than being in a restaurant and having dd fart and having all the people around u look at you and think it is you!  :shock: this really bothered me in the beginning...six months later i just laugh my a$$ off!
