Title: Enough liquids?
Post by: gthills on January 03, 2006, 13:37:51 pm
Hi,

My 11 month old dd never took to the bottle (my mom say's it's divine retribution :? ).  We had a bf to sleep problem a few months ago and resolved that by switching bf to after sleep rather than before.  She's on a pretty good E.A.S.Y routine now.  But I'm concerned that she's not getting enough liquids. It's next to impossible to know how many grams of bmilk she's getting from me.

Wake 7:30 bf: 5-7 min one side
9:30 solids: 5 oz yogurt + sippy cup of water (maybe drinks 1/2 oz) then bf other side 4-5 min
10:30 big nap
12:00 bf: 4-5 min one side
2:00 solids: 2-3 oz veggie finger foods, sippy cup of water, bf 5 min
3:30 smaller nap
4:30 bf: 4-5 min one side
6:00 solids: 4 oz jarred fruit (apples mostly)
8:00 sleep until 7am

Since we introduced solids she's had really solid bowel movmts.  Hard to push and not mushy at all.  And she's waking at 4 am to nurse the last 3 days.
We've tried introducing other liquids through bottle, sippy cup, water bottle, regular cup...no more than 1/2 to 1 oz gets in her.

What do you think?
