Hi there,
Red is exclusively bf and has been on solids for about 5 weeks now. He has done pretty much most of the veges and fruits and i plan to introduce a little protein in the form of white fish, chicken and lentils in the next week or two.
HIs routine is now as follows:
8am - Nurses
8.30am - cereal
12pm - nurses followed by solids
4pm - nurses
5.30pm - solids
7pm - nurses
11pm - nurses
So at lunch time, when do i start offering the solids first, before the breastfeed?? and then do i breastfeed immediatly afterwards or drop that feed?? He has just dropped the feed with his teatime solids so i don't know if he is ready for only 4 feeds a day.
What do you think??

Hey Clair-
It's really up to you when and if you decide to switch things up. I think a lot of moms switch to solids first around 9 mo, some have done solids first since introducing them. Me, I kept Tyler on breast/bottle first until he turned 1 because he stuffed himself silly on solids if I offered them first, then wouldn't take breast/bottle. I found that out by trial and error.
As for dropping feeds, I'd follow Red's lead. Babies usually lose interest in the 11PM feed within a few weeks of starting solids, but if he's still taking a full feed there and is losing interest in lunch, he might have other ideas. :) HTH!
