hi! ds (5 months 1 week and 20 pounds) had his first taste of rice cereal this afternoon (mixed w/ breastmilk) and he LOVED it! i have been trying to adjust his eating so that he is on E-A-S-Y instead of E-S-Y-A and think we might be able to break it tonight (I FINALLY FOUND A PACIFIER HE WILL TAKE). so when he wakes tomorrow (hopefully hungry if i can hold off early morning feeds w/ the paci) should i nurse him first or give him cereal first? i think in BW it says give solids b4 liquid but i notice a-lot of moms on here seem to give breast or bottle first thing in the am then solids...also, should i give him cereal only at breakfast this week or during lunch and/or dinner as well? thanks so much!

I would nurse before giving solids, especially at that age. Most, if not all, of his nutrition comes from bm/formula right now.

thanks!

I agree that I would bf before giving solids - that's the most important right now. I would start with solids just once/day for awhile so he can learn & practice, and then give them more as he gets older and needs more.
