I've taken Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle in the past and wanted to do another round to help with my milk supply. I picked up some bottles from a brand I haven't used before and the Fenugreek bottle also contains thyme. I'm not sure why and if this is good or bad. I did some looking around on the internet and keep getting conflicting answers. Some sites say its good for lactation, some say it shouldn't be taken when nursing, and one even said that it decreases milk supply. I've only taken a few doses and haven't noticed an increase or decrease yet. Has anyone ever heard of taking thyme??

I see what you mean! After a bit of internet reading I'm also finding completely contradicting info. I trust kellymom.com and they say it decreases or slows supply so I would be cautious. Do you know any herbalists? Free ones?

Thanks for your help and here's an update...
It finally dawned on me to look up the actual product's website! Duh! Don't know why I didn't think of this before.
The fenugreek/ thyme combo is meant mainly for chest congestion, reducing mucus, and as a laxative (yikes).
I also stopped by a natural food/ herb store and talked with a lady there, she says she doesn't recommend taking the fenugreek/ thyme when breastfeeding but recommended I keep it as she highly recommends it for congestion.
I guess I'll keep it, but I'm still peeved at the grovery store for displaying it right next to the blessed thistle, kinda misleading if you ask me. I may say something to them the next time I am there (though I usually don't do things like that).
