Title: What should BM's look like when start solids?
Post by: MPalmer on March 24, 2006, 02:15:39 am
We are a month into solids now and BM's are all over the board...some waaay to firm & semi-pebbly...some seem to be straight pureed pears coming right back out.   What is the goal?   Mushy...or shapely?    Sorry if TMI...but I have no idea and haven't asked Dr. yet.

Thanks for any replies!

Well i've been feeding solids for like 3 weeks now and his BM are more brown and sometimes mushy and sometimes a bit harder (not that much though) (and they deffinatly smell a lot worse ;))

In general, they start to look more formed and adult like. When you see marbles or pebbles, that's usually a sign of constipation.

Thanks for the replies!!

We've been on fruit & cereal only lately to get the BM's back to being not so firm (and trying to make sure he BF enough)...so we'll try to phase back in some veggies.  Thank heavens he loves anything you put in his mouth!!!   :D
