my son is 26 months and i carnt get him to eat a meal. his daily routine is:
6.30 drink of tea n a biscuit
7.30 breakfast - a peice of fruit and a nutrigrain bar (as he wont eat cereal or toast)
9.00 snack and drink of juice/water
11.30 lunch - a couple of bites of sandwich and some crisps or cheese dipper thing
2.30 snack
4.30 tea - a few bites of whatever hes decided he wants
6.00 drink of juice and a small sweet if hes been a good boy
he does drink milk if he wants it and eats yogurts, its just he does not eat a lot and he is very active. he is still in 12-18 month bottoms. i was thinking of keeping his meal time strict but if he has crisps for dinner he will put them in a bowl and eat them for an hour or so after dinner while playin.
should i make him stick to a set time or let him carry on as he is, i thought it was a stage he was going through but its been nearly 3 months now. please any advice i would be grateful xxx

Ryan is exactly the same , i gave up on food battles a long time ago it was getting too stressfull . we have a sausage monster , this is what he eats daily for lunch and dinner. we let him graze through the day just so that he eats. i wouldn't say he is a huge snacker , even if we don't give snacks he still doesn't eat a proper meal. we have put this down to his reflux and food aversions but it seems that a lot of mum's on this site have similar problems and their LO's don't have reflux.
i think if he is full of energy and healthy then don't worry too much . is he losing weight ? i would worry a bit more if he was losing weight .Ryan can still wear 12/18month bottoms , it depends where we shop. i tend to go by his height now when i buy clothes , sometimes the waist is big but his pants reach his ankles , otherwise waist fits fine and bottoms don't reach his ankles.
Ryan won't even eat fruit so you are lucky there.
