Sorry, not sure what section to ask this. At what age do you start giving solids before the bottle? I tried one day last week and noticed that she didn't drink as much so went back to bottle first. Also at what age do children generally drop to 3 bottles a day?

How old is your lo?
What does your schedule look like?
If you post this, I will be able to give you more information.
At 6-7 months we were on 3 bottles.
Thanks

Oops sorry.
My LO is 8 months old, weighs roughly 20lb.
Current routine
7 wake
7.30 7 oz bottle
8.00 cereal (about 5tbsp)
9.30/10 bed
11.30/12 7 oz bottle
12.30 yoghurt and fruit (about 5 tbsp)
2.00/2.30 bed
4.00 try giving water or juice, sometimes wants another bottle here (5-7 oz)
5.00 meat and vegies (about 5 tbsp)
6.00 bath, book, bottle (4-6 oz)
6.30/7 bed
She was drinking 4 x 9oz bottle per day and less solids up to a week ago, when I weighed her and realised she hadn't put on any weight in 3 weeks. So I have decreased her milk volume slightly and upped her solids, she has put on 700g in a fortnight!!!
Should I now give the bottle after solids and try dropping her to 3 or just leave it be?
Thanks for any advice.

You could try dropping your lo down to 3 bottles. DS was on 3 by this age.
You could re-structure your routine to look something like this.
7:30 - Bottle
8:00 - Cereal
11:30 / 12:00 - Lunch
2:00/2:30 - Bottle - if not too tired - try getting closer to 2:30
4:30 / 5:00 - Dinner
6:30 - Bottle
7:00 - Bed
If you change your schedule to look something like this - you will find that she will probably take more food in and still drink her bottles.
HTH, let us know what you decide to do.

Thanks for your help, I am going to give it a go tomorrow. How much did your LO take for each bottle? My LO currently takes around 6-7oz x 4 per day, would I expect her to take 6-7oz still, but only 3x per day, or should I add a bit more to the bottle?
-
My lo would take 8 oz in the morning and and at night and 7 oz in the afternoon. You can try making a bigger bottle to see how much your lo takes.
Remember you can make up the dropped bottle with milk in cereal / cooking as well as yogurts and cheeses.
