Title: Dropping A Cluster Feeding?
Post by: ~Kiki on September 14, 2006, 13:29:42 pm
Is there an age and/or weight that you should consider dropping one of the cluster feedings?

Are you doing a cluster and a df?  Asking more out of curiosity.  I am doing both and am debating whether I will want to drop the df first or the cluster.  I think that you are suppose to go down to 5 feeds around the 5 mth mark.  I am not sure when you drop down to 4 though

I do both the cluster and df. I know that it's important to keep the dreamfeed. I just don't know when to stop the cluster feeding.

I would say around 4.5 or 5 months.  I am at 5 months though and just now starting to cluster feed to I am not the greatest one to ask (I just know I am a little behind a lot of lo's).  If your lo is around this age I would suggest slowly moving it back.  I would say around 15 minutes every 3 days until it it gets within 30 minutes to an hour of the previous feeding.  If everything goes well then you know that your lo is ready.

I am going to drop the df - not the cluster (that way I can go to sleep earlier :) )
