Also not sure if this is the right forum!
My DD is 6 mths, but born exactly a month early, so corrected age is 5 mnths. I've never really noticed a growth spurt in her, perhaps at the time she woke more often at night.
Today, I've noticed that she seems v hungry, during the day. Normally, she never cries for a feed, i just feed her (she on 4hr easy). And even today, she doesn't cry for a feed, but when i feed her, she seems.. ravenous. Anyway. Is 5/6 mths a time for a growth spurt? Trouble is, we are also trying to get her to sleep independently, so right now, my DH is upstairs with her going thru patshush etc, she has been crying for 2.5 hours :( I am really unsure if i shld go and feed her (b/f to sleep was a BIG prop we've recently successfully eliminated).
Because i've never noticed a trend with her growth spurts in the past, I am not sure if this is one now. I obviously dontwant to starve my darling, but i dont want to feed her unnecessarily either. It will definitely put her to sleep, and that's what we're trying to avoid (me being a prop that is).
Ta.

What you have described sounds exactly like a growth spurt! Hungry more often than usual and ravenous during feeds are two good signs. And six months old is exactly the right time to have one! I would go and feed your darling. She wouldn't cry for 2.5 hours if she was really tired and not hungry.

Thanks for that. She has been rolling over a lot! And guess what... she's now been awake for...5.5 hours :( still no sleep, and i've already fed her. DH taking over now and i'll go to sleep for couple hours. Thing is, it will be so hard to figure out if she's hungry cos she just cries all the time. ANd she didnt really feed when i fed her a while ago - she was just so exhausted from all that crying.

Sounds like a possible growth spurt to me.
The around 6 months growth spurt is often the one people say is a biggie. Good Luck! Hopefully you'll get the 2/3 day version not the 4/6 day one!
