Hi! I will be flying with my 11 month old son next week. My pediatrician has said it is fine for me to take Dramamine, but I was wondering if anyone here has done so while BF, and what effects (if any) did it have on the baby? Should I take a test dose before we actually fly; I know it's very unlikely that ds would have a serious reaction to the med, but If he did, I'd hate for it to happen on a plane! Thanks!

Dramamine contains antihistimines which can have affect on milk supply. However as your baby is 11 months and as the concern is more about long-term use I don't think you should worry. It can have a side effect of drowsiness but again at his age he's probably not taking the quantities he once was - I sure it's fine. You could try a test if you are concerned.

HI there,
My lo is 3 months, and as I've been pretty nauseous lately, I've taken it a couple of nights in a row with no apparent side effects for the lo. Not even drowsiness. I was also told it was safe for short term use.
Hope that helps! - Renae

Thanks guys! Now, if only Dramamine could cure a fear of flying (or sleep deprivation) :)
