I have been bfing for almost 14 months, my period returned when dd was 8 months but is still irregular and quite heavy. I used to be 28 days without exception to the point that when we decided to ttc I got pregnant within 2 days with dd. Now, it comes late, early, whenever and wherever! Eight days early this month to be exact and heavy to the point of leak through (TMI?). The only good thing is that it now only lasts about 4 days. Will I ever be regular again, is it because I'm still bfing 3x a day? Should I be posting this in another area if not related to bfing?

I'm not sure your issues are specifically bf related. Who knows. It could be more of a post-partum thing. It takes everyone different times to get back into a pattern
After 2.5 years my periods are a couple of days shorter than they were before - but otherwise the same.
Let's see what responses you get - we could always move the thread to health afterwards.
If you are thinking of TTC I know the TTC thread has some people with an incredible knowledge including on the subject of TTC and breastfeeding. I'm thinking of Lilah's mommy for one.

Marian - I so know what you are going through! After dd1 I went back to "normal" quite quickly and only bfed 11 months, then to 12 months but only once a day. With dd2, things have been much crazier.... in fact, I am currently 11 days late, and there shouldn't be a reason for that! I too am still bfing 3 times a day.... so maybe there is some correlation for extended nursers.
