I am hoping someone has some wisdom.
I am still feeding my 15mo DD, but we are down to just the bedtime feed. I would like to stop totally (I think!!) and would like some advice. Currently we do bath, breast, story, bed. I am trying to make it breast, bath, story but she just won't feed then.
She doesn't like milk so trying to replace with other drink is not an option. I have tried numerous things, all I can get her to drink is choc milkshake.... was reluctant to give her that before bed incase the caffeine had an effect. She has yogurt and cheese int eh day and milk on cereal so not too worried about her intake.
Any ideas on best way to finally stop?

You may just want to stop totally. Can someone else put her to bed? If you do the bath and say goodnight and pass her off?
Or, start with you doing bath, bf, then pass her off.... and then in a week or so, remove the bf.
My dd2 is not drinking milk either (still bfing 3 times a day), but does have cheese and yogurt as well. I think when we do drop the PM feed (I think it may be the first to go) I will just have dh put her down. I don't think you have to replace it with something, maybe water?

I'd just stop the feed. If she really wants something to drink before bed, then I also suggest water. To replace the milk during the day, keep doing what you're doing - other dairy, other forms of calcium and protein. She may surprise you and not give you a hard time dropping it...

I've had some success with night wakings by talking to her in the day about it, so I thought I'd try the same. I explained that mummy's milk was going to be less and then it would stop. She looked at me and said 'no more, gone' :)
Last night she did 5 mins on one side (often 15) stopped and said 'side' which measn she wants the other side. She did 7 mins on that and came off saying 'nuff, story'!! let's hope this continues :)

That's great. What a wonderful start to the weaning process. And what a talker!
