Title: How long for medication to reach milk?
Post by: malialeanne on March 28, 2007, 07:09:37 am
I took a Pepcid Complete antacid tonight after dinner. It didn't occur to me that it might not be safe for bf. :( I have looked on multiple different sites including kellymom, and I can't find it either on the "safe" list or the "not safe" list.

If I shouldn't bf after taking Pepcid how long should I allow to get it out of my system?

Thanks!
Malia

The Hale forum is the first place where I look to check a medication.

Hopefully this link works:

and another mention here:

So it seems that pepcid is safe even if you didn't have the overnight delay. I would get nursing as normal.

I do trust this guy - this is his professional focus - medications and breastfeeding and he's very well-informed and trusted by health professionals worldwide.
