hello, i have a 9WO DD (she was born 3 weeks early so adjusted age would be 6WO), and she used to have terrible gas pain when i gave her regular Enfamil, so i switched her to Lactose-Free Enfamil, she is a bit constipated (she regularly poos every 2 or 3 days... with my help sometimes), but she still has gass and pain, and when she eats he little stomach makes so much noise, that i thought she may be better with a soy based formula, but if she is a bit constipated, would the soy formula make her worse?

My son was on soy formula for just 24 hours and it turned his poo to chalk like consistency. However we were told that due to the extreme constipation that he was probably allergic to soy. James did later test positive to soy.
It could be that your dd is allergic to dairy and might need a hypoallergenic formula like nutramigen or an amino acid based formula like neocate.

If she is having these problems with Milk Based formulas, the next step is normally Soy. BUT so many that cannot handle milk cannot handle soy either.
If your budget can handle it, I would go straight to a hypoallergenic formula - Nutramigen.
I personally would not even bother with a soy based formula because it is very very constipating.
Just to let you know, if you do go to Nutramigen and it works, you can buy it on Ebay for ALOT cheaper.

My DD was less constipated on Soy, she had issues with dairy based formula. I guess it would depend if your lo was also allergic to soy, many are but not all.

i didn't give her any soy formula, she is acctually doing better on a 4hr routine instead of a 3hr one, she is less gassy
