For the last 2 days the "Show unread posts since last visit" link hasn't been working...
whats up with it?

I've had problems too, but not every time I log on. It was just today for me, taking ages to load a thread in too.

I had issues with it last night - I had a page of new replies to my posts and no unread posts since last visit, which was just really confusing to me... but it was also 12:45 am ::) Seems to be better for me today.
It does appear that Andy has been tinkering... the chat room is back and hyperlinking has been made super easy ;D

i had this yesterday and then again this morning - after 10 hrs offline i usually come on in the morning to 5-7 pages of new topics and there was none.

And when I went to log in tonight the site didn't recognise me!!!! I was quite put out that I needed to enter my details. I was like.......... what, do you not know moi!

Have that with the unread stuff too. New replies is OK. Mari, I had to log in last night to read a PM, but otherwise it knew me. (huh?)

yeah it did that to me too... I'm hurt the sight doesn't know me by now :P

I was just coming to post about the same thing. Not been on for 11 hours or so(!) and only one new post? Very strange.

Me too!!! Both the unread posts and having to log on again. Hope the site is not going to go into melt down again, I'm lost without it. I think it may be an addiction :)

Glad it's just not me then.
I logged in ok, had a scoot around, went somewhere else came back and had to log in again!!
And now not been on since last night and only one post since i last visited....

Me, too, with the unread posts. I kept thinking that it was resetting at midnight (somewhere in the world... not US). Also glad to know it's not just me. :)

Me too, no unread posts, its really confusing without it!

Clear your cookies and temporary internet files/cache. Return to the site and press F5 that should clear the issue up :)

for us non techies can you tell me how to clear cookies etc...

mine's working-ish. I don't think I'm getting as many new posts as I used to. (I don't think you lot are posting any less!)

I am only getting about 4 new posts when I log in. But if I stay logged in a while and show unread posts since last visit it brings up new ones.

jenn, kimbverly or anyone else - how do i try the clear cookies etc way to see fi it works for my stupid old computer?
i am stil getting only new replies to my posts but no new ones (except the ones AFTER i have been on a while - so missinng all the overnight ones which means i am not finding all the new posts i might want/need to see UGH@!)

thanks jaime - so far so good - although does that mean none of the websites i visit will recognize me now - will have to dig out endles logins and passwords?
i need to really enter the 21st century right?

Yes, there's every chance that your passwords will be lost if you're using Internet Explorer. If you're using the latest version of IE (and you should be for safety's sake) then when you come to clear the cache there are individual options so you can avoid deleting passwords, this does not always work though. The Firefox browser stores all passwords in a file. You can access this file and dig out a password for a particular site if a cookie and cache clean has wiped it out.
That being said, the problem we are seeing here would appear to be a problem with our software so I will ask Andy if he can take a look at it :)

I noticed this happened around the same time the website name changed from babywhisperer.com/smf to babywhispererforums.com.

Ok, so deleting my files and cookies have resolved the problem for me :)
