Title: breakfast ideas for 10 month baby?
Post by: anitad67 on January 27, 2009, 03:07:29 am
i can't find anything my girl would eat in the morning although she insists on night feeds still.  no cereal, not interested in toast anymore, bits and spits out cheerio, etc etc.  she is sort of interested in bagel but even with her 6 teeth she still couldn't really handle bagel yet.

any suggestions would be highly appreciated!!!

what about yogurt, fruit, or egg yolk? maybe she's teething and it is uncomfortable to eat?

I often give 'breakfast' (mainly because weetbix are so messy) at the end of the day, and give him leftover dinner or something new in the morning for breakfast. if not toast, leftover roast veggies or some such, even cheese chunks or fruit.  English muffins with cream cheese or avocado on them, all easy to prepare in the morning.  :)

she only eats coconut milk yogurt.  fruit must bite from the original source. won't eat the cut up kiwi.  will try cheese stick.  tried muffins and she just spits it out.   very discouraging... :-\

hi, try not to get discouraged. Remind yourself she is still learning.

Each time you present a new food, how many times do you offer it to her?  Babies can take a while to adjust to a new food. I put brocolli on Leobin's high chair 3 times before he even touched it. I put it on about twice a day, then by a couple of days he was tasting it, then a day or two later he was eating pretty much the whole thing.  I only offer a new food on its own and give space between new foods. Keep in mind that this is all new, new smells, tastes, feelings with each new food.

I have found with Leobin, I need to give him one piece at a time, or he really doesn't eat well, you might find your DD likes to eat a certain way.

This the time for her to practise and play with food, while you can still fill her up with bm or formula.

Generally we do Hipp banana porridge with warm EBM and some fruit puree. Usually pear in the morning.  Also do toast (cut up into chunks). Recently weetabix with Greek yoghurt (pasturised) and fruit puree mixed in. French toast (bread dipped in beatten egg with cinnamon) and fried.
