Hi,
Not quite sure where to post this. Its another "is this normal" question:
DS likes to drink bathwater. Always has done. DH and I try to stop him so DS has developed a really sneaky approach. It consists of pretending to turn to look at something/roll over/reach for toy....and then gulping water!
At first, I thought he might be hungry/thirsty, so I offered boob (this was when he was very little). Nope - just seems to like the taste of slightly shampoo-y water...
Errr? Anyone? ???
TIA

Yep Avery gulps bathwater and pool water like they're going out of style... I try to limit the intake of bath water after the shampoo/body wash, but in all honesty, she's quite proficient at getting some gulps!

my DD is almost 3 and still loves to drink bath water. hopefully there's nothing wrong with it because she drinks it all the time
-
Same here! She knows she's not supposed to, which I think is why she does it ... even 'pretends' to drink it (lifting an empty cup/bucket./scoop to her lips) just to get a reaction!!

Normal here, too. More for Isaac than for James at their ages. I think it's the novelty... & the response they get from mommy & daddy.
-
There's no 'trying' to drink the bathwater - they DO! Even when there's been bubbles in the water too.
Personally.... I try not to ;)

My LO loves the bath water here too. Personally I find it less offensive if he tries it BEFORE he's had a wee in the bath :-X ;D

Well, my niece used to have serious bowel problems and she was caught drinking bath water and her granny told her mum not to discourage it as it might help her with her movements, and do you know what, it did! I think it was because of the soapy water, sort of an enima! Don't think she weed in it first though!

Thank you!!! Once again you lovely ladies have put my mind at rest....and made me chuckle too. :-*

My daughter does the same thing! he he,.It makes me feel good that she is not the only one!!! :)

If DS2 isn't trying to drink the water, he's trying to give soapy water to George our cat who loves bathtime. Plus DS2 calls his soapy cup of water in the tub coffee. Looks like someone here drinks too much coffee. ::)
Yep, normal or all of our children are different. ;)
