Title: eosinophilic eosophagitis
Post by: krollason on May 01, 2009, 10:52:40 am
hi this is my first post so i hope i get it right!
my 14 mth old has just been diagnosed with eosinophilic oesophagitis, it seems he is allergic to amines and intolerent to wheat.
i was hoping someone else out there had a similar diagnosis and maybe had more info then i do. eg do they grow out of it or is this the rest of his life without amines, i am used to diet challenges my 4 yr old was diagnosed coeliac in jan but this one takes the cake, it's really quite difficult to find food a toddler is happy to eat when bananas, avocado, tomato, ham and cheese are off the menu! (to name a few)
any comments would be appreciated. thanks kate

I never heard of this either, but I found a few links for you.  I hope they are helpful and I'll send some hugs your ways too!
**HUGS**

The first site I love.  They have such great message boards, you have to pay $25 for a year membership to their boards and the majority of their recipe's, but it's totally worth it!!  They even have a message board called "Parents of Children with Eosinophilic Diseases", but again $25 for a year access.  I have membership as I wanted access to their huge recipe bank.
This first link is free to access as it describes this disorder::

Hang in there Kate,
I'm thinking of you and sending hugs!  It would be very scary to have your LO sick and not have enough info...keep hasseling those doctors if they aren't explaining things enough to you, don't let them fob you off, it's their job to help :)

Take care, let us know how you're all going
