After 4long weeks of complaining to doctors, finally they have agreed my 6week old has a milk allergy. Not suprising considering so does mummy and grandma!
Lo started taking 'milk free' formula a week ago, and I wanted to post how she has changed to give people hope! Within 24 hours I had a happy baby! No crying till 5in the morning, and after every feed. Some nights she would cry solidly for 9hours with reflux, even with infant gavascon.
We started on EASY 24hours after the formula change and things are so much better.
No more sleeping in swings and car seats, she'll nap by herself after just being swaddled and only in her pram or basket.
Evenings are yet not perfect but much improved, from all the evening crying she had day and night muddled, but in a week we've got the settling time from 5hours at 2am to 1.5 at half 10. And she wakes at 6 or 7each morning with no night feed.
I'm so please I didn't back down from the doc's, I knew if wasn't colic, and that she wasn't just a baby that crys!!! Yes she had silent reflux but all the gavascon in the world didn't help because of the allergy!
I hope there are other mummy's out there that if the doc's question you 'because your a new mum' (yes my doc said that) they keep on fighting. Yes the formula is expensive to the health service but for the sake of a babies health surely worth it!!!
We're gonna keep up with EASY and the baby whisperer as it's been perfect for my little girls needs! X

So glad things worked out for you! Good thing you listened to your mommy instincts.
-
So glad you trusted your instinct and got there in the end :-* :-*
And the cost is irrelevent if your lo has the condition that needs it.

Wow - well done you for persevering!! You should feel really proud of yourself. It's hard to stand up to patronising doctors!!!!
I'm delighted your LO is happier.

Newborns r difficult to start with at the best of times but a baby with an allergy can be so difficult. Really pleased I wouldn't back down, wow I never nknew the mummy instinct was so true but it really is!
