Title: Canadian MSPI safe foods?
Post by: chars mum on March 16, 2010, 16:48:32 pm
Hello,
My DS was just diagnosed with MSPI.  As such, I have started an elimination diet with the hope that it will help him feel better.  I spent a loooong time yesterday at the local grocery store looking at lists and lists of ingredients in an attempt to find safe foods for me to eat.  I could not find a margarine that was safe.  I see that there is a thread for UK and US MSPI safe foods but not a Canadian one.  How about we get one started?  The following list is what I found at our local Zehr's supermarket.  Please add to this list as you find foods that are both milk and soy protein free  :)  I'll go first!

Rice Dream rice milk
Blue Diamond almond butter
Stonemill organic spelt bread
PC Organics swiss Muesli
Enjoy Life cocoa loco snack bars
Amy's Organic chili with vegetables
Heinz original beans in tomato sauce
PC salsa
PC whole grain dijon mustard
Diana Sauce gourmet western smokehouse
Heinz ketchup

Oh how frustrating!  Why do companies keep changing the ingredients???  I no longer trust PC Organic Swiss Muesli and the Newman's Own Organic Balsamic Vinagrette now uses soybean oil!

There are two new lines of deli meats and packaged meats that are all natural.  One is the Schniders Country Naturals and the other is Maple Leaf Natural Selections.  I am not longer on an ED (not pumping anymore) but I still use these as they don't have all the nitrates and gross stuff that the other deli meats and bacon have.
