Title: cannot hide email address from public?
Post by: MasynSpencerElliotte on December 16, 2010, 03:23:15 am: Okay, I have tried off and on to click the button to hide my email from public, and it has never worked, tonight I even totally changed my email to a junk one I have and back and it still would not let me change that setting...what am I doing wrong??

Hiding it just means hiding it from everyone else....you can still see it on your own posts, under your avatar. But when I look, I see your "view profile" icon and your "send PM" icon. No email. :)

Nor do you need to keep it a secret from yourself :) I suspect that was the reasoning when the developers wrote the software, I haven't looked at the relevant code but, it's quite likely that to hide your email address from yourself would need an extra amount of coding that would be, essentially, unnecessary.
