Title: Can't Upload Avatar

For a long time now I haven't been able to upload pictures to use as avatars. I follow the instructions, pics are the right size and all but they don't load and my avatar just looks like an x'd out box instead. Ideas? Is this because I'm a Mac user and photos are in iPhoto? I wouldn't think so, but...

No it's not because of Mac as I'm on one.  The photos from iPhoto have to be the smallest size there is otherwise they won't upload (for me anyway).  Try again and save as smallest option and see if you get on any better.

How do you save photos in iPhoto? I just have them uploaded there and then try to add as an avatar but it isn't working...

I save them to my desktop in the smallest size and then upload them from there.

I have a Mac and I've emailed them to myself on the smallest size and then save the emailed pic tothe desktop to upload. Probably more complicated than it needs to be but I've never had a problem :)

Karen are you sure it's the right size (120x90) as well as file size?

Yay - I did exactly what Vikki said (emailed it to myself in smallest size option and then moved it to desktop) and that worked. Thanks everyone!

I have a Mac, too....this is what I do from iphoto.

Click on the picture I want and then
1) File
2) export
3) File Export
4) Kind: JPEG
5) quality: low or medium
6) size: small
and export it to my desktop and then upload from there!

The email trick might work for you too, Emmalou. Sorry I don't know windows well!
