Title: Can I give my one year old prawns?
Post by: Truly Blessed on February 02, 2011, 12:18:05 pm
Hi Everyone,

My DS has jst turned one and I like to give him what we eat where possible. Last night I made a cod and prawn pie and wanted to give him some for his dinner but I don't know if I he can have the prawns yet? They are precooked prawns which have been heated/cooked once again in the oven.

Many thanks

Has he had fish etc with no problems?

Emma has been eating seafood without any problems but since last summer probably (we grill a lot in the summer) so she was around 18 mths. She loves everything...squid, prawns, mussles, crab...you name it!
Oscar on the other hand, it took him till she was eating it to agree to try it!

Hi there,

We gave DD prawns about 18 months (I think) and she loves them - Thanks Shivi for the infor about mussles as I was wondering when we could give them to DD.

In the UK cooked seafood is ok from 6 months if there is no history of allergies.
