Title: Poop help
Post by: ~*~Louisa~*~ on March 08, 2011, 14:50:37 pm
okay so Alyssas reflux has gotten worse, she is now also spitting up more then ever.

3 days ago her poo went like toothpaste consistancey (think spread toothpaste on the side) maybe an odd way to describe it
after 2 days of that its gone more normal but absolutly full of mucus, I am milk, soy, egg, peanut free and on moderate sals, she is mix fed breast and neocate.

We had, normal poos for a while the thing is theres nothing new ive had, no slips

The poo as well one poop leaves her bum sooooo red if she does aother within 6 hours it blisters

could it be acid causing the mucus and bum burns?

or another intollerence? or what?

I swear this girl keeps us on our toes as soon as we think its sorted BAM

Lots of hugs - just to say that DS used to get burnt bottoms and can have really loose stools (like cake mix!).  Basically though lots of trial and error this is what we found

milk (possibly other dairy - currently on dairy free diet via dietician) and soya cause DS to have very loose, sticky stools

Soya, carrots, oranges, apples, sometimes tomatoes cause he bottom to burn wherever the stool has touched.

DH had the same issue with carrots and oranges when he was a baby until he was 2 (we haven't tried DS with them recently) then outgrew it.  I have problems with cold cows milk.

The only issue that I really picked up on when breastfeeding DS1 was if I drank fresh orange juice he would get really upset (can't remember when his burnt bottoms started).

Just food for thought ....
