Title: Sals help again for DD#2 this time..
Post by: ~*~Louisa~*~ on March 16, 2011, 13:04:20 pm
Okay she had a typical sals reaction yesterday to 3 slices of peeled cucumber, as soon as we saw her face we knew sals.. usually she will have the red patches on her face for a day or two then it will fade into a bit of excema

yesterday the reaction changed it went from patches on her face to a bright red rasied rash (I thought it was fading off) and then her eye started to swell as soon as that happened I gave her some anti histamine which brought the eye straight down and stopped the face rash getting worse.

the eye made me sure we were looking at allergic reaction, we KNOW it was the cucumber but we have never had more then the red patches and bad poo

is it normal to go into the rash and swelling

I read that if you ED and then you have something from the ED and you cant handle it it will be ALOT worse is that what we are looking at?

Im a bit frightened now because the cucumber was just high and a small amount and it was peeled and to have such a reaction im worried what might happen if we have a slip up onto very high sals

Oh sorry hun I thought I had replied to your cucumber thread. xx  I agree with Liz that that kind of a reaction seems like an allergy rather than a sensitivity. Maybe bring it up with your GP and get a referral?
