Title: DD#2 sals help again
Post by: ~*~Louisa~*~ on March 29, 2011, 07:20:58 am
Im pretty good at this sal stuff now but DD#2 has woken up with bad cheeks

She ate

Cereal with ricemilk

Sausage rolls (from frozen)

Crust of a prawn sandwhich (1 prawn a smidge of mayo)
Part of a bacon and chicken sandwhich (Amount of bacon and chicken would be 0 - maybe 2 bits it was pretty much bread and mayo again

Chips (Unpeeled maris piper) Fishpie (fish from frozen, ricemilk, parsley and a pinch of corriander) The diner though she ate maybe 1 or 2 chips and a teaspoon of fishpie and fell asleep

What in that was high in sals? its not as bad of a reaction as the cucumber incident

parsley is high sals tho small amounts often tolerated, i dont have info but i'd bet corriander is up there too.

also check ingredients on mayo (some have lemon juice or other high sal ingredients)
and i'd also be looking at the sausage roll ingredients (spice extract for example is high sals)
and check cereal ingredients, make sure no rosemary or antioxidant added (used as preservative in many baby cereals and very high sals)

Just another thghout...If she is that sensitive to sals she is probably not tolerating additives and preservatives whihc have a very similar toxic effect as sals.  They are just the synthetic version of food chemicals. So of the foods are frozen, they probably have preservatives in them.

Kai is very sensitive to preservatives and additives, actually it has been shown that most kids are affected in some way, even if its just restlessness and temporary hyperactivity.

As far as sals go I would be thinking what oil was the chips cooked in? And also the spices in the sausage rolls.

Unfortuntely we can only eat preservative free sausages and must ask the butcher to make them specially, then forkout to buy 5kg at a time!

Chips cooked in sunflower oil,

She has tollerated the sausage rolls, BUT before we put her on an exclution diet and i read that if you reacted to something slightly before after exlcuding it can make it more sensitive so that is a possibility

I didnt look to see if the sausage rolls said free from additives i usually do it was just a quick convinent food lol

thought it might be :-* sick of reading labels yet, lol. grocery shopping takes soooooo much longer these days! you can try making your own sausage rolls and freeze half the batch (freeze before the cooking stage).
