Title: Low sal Vitamin C foods
Post by: ~*~Louisa~*~ on April 25, 2011, 19:05:18 pm
My dietion said the girls will end up short on Vit C with the Sal sensitivity, Sophina takes a multi-vitamin which includes vit C but only 25% of a childs rda, which isnt enough, we cant find a pure vit c childs chewable only adults so before going to the gp i wondered if there was any low sal fruits with plenty of vit c, Needs to be low not moderate as she wil need to have alot of them.

Bok Choy is moderate but  I believe that brussel sprouts are high in vitamin C.  I steam and blend and add to rissoles as well as steam and toss in butter so they go caramalised.  The 13 month old will eat them like that but not the 3 yr old.

Peas are moderate but they used to be classed as low until last year.  Might be a good one to try for the first moderate.

Not sure about pears but they are your only fruit aren't they?

Sophina handles pears and bananas

For alyssa pears will be the only fruit

Sophina loves sprouts didn't know they were high in vit C but only problem is they are coming out of season now
We have avoided peas as they were moderate but now we are on a clean sheet with Sophina I'll give them a go, if she handles them I can pop some of those with most meals

Bok choy we wouldnt be able to get lol i live in a small town lol

Just told hubby and he is doing up some peas right now with dinner lol

I knew i would get some answers on here lol!
